Klong San community is a part of historically preserved old city. It is a tourist attraction that holds a very important historic and cultural significance. The area covers Taksin or Sathorn Bridge, connecting the Klong San district to the Bang Rak and Sathorn district. The region is one of oldest riverside communities similar to the KUDEEJEEN people from different culture living together. In the past, there were weathly Chinese families living in this area such as the Poshyananda family, or the Jotikasthira family.
Klong San area was also a residence of Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonan or Somdet Ya, mother of the King Rama IX. Buildings near her residence were later restored, and preserved within the local public park named after her. Klong San was also a shipping port, since the area was filled with many orchards allowing easy access for trades.
